What if your logistics system could give you back 140 hours a day?

That’s not a typo. That’s what MONSON, one of Australia’s top global shipping specialists, achieved when they partnered with Kiandra to rebuild their logistics software from the ground up.

This isn’t another story about “digital transformation.” This is a story about measurable change – real hours, real value, real competitive advantage.

Let’s break it down.

MONSON’s challenge: legacy software, limited control

MONSON had outgrown their SaaS-based system. It was ageing, inflexible, and didn’t offer the control they needed to stay competitive across 30+ locations in Australia and Asia.

They were facing:

  • Inability to customise to client or port requirements
  • Compliance headaches with changing regulations
  • Manual vessel estimations that drained time
  • A total lack of integration and automation.

They needed more than a patch or an upgrade. They needed a complete rebuild and they needed it on their terms.

The solution: MB2, built with OutSystems

Together, MONSON and Kiandra built MB2 – a custom logistics platform using the OutSystems low-code platform.

Here’s what changed:

Rules-based vessel estimations

A powerful, configurable engine that lets non-tech users adjust tariff calculations on the fly with no developer required.

No more spreadsheets

Their new Multi-Port Estimator replaced multiple tools and manual workflows, eliminating complexity and errors.

Smart automation

Automated document generation, data-driven workflows, and intelligent validation rules reduced double-handling and improved accuracy.

The impact: productivity unlocked

MONSON estimates that staff now save two hours a day, per user, specifically in port operations. Across their global workforce, that adds up to 140 hours of productivity per day. That’s time being reallocated to higher-value work. Faster service delivery. Fewer errors. And a whole lot less frustration.

Monique Costantino, CMO at MONSON, said it best:

“We narrowed our search to two providers and decided to partner with Kiandra – a decision we are very glad we made.”

From shipping specialist to industry leader

This transformation didn’t just fix MONSON’s software problems, it made them one of the most technologically advanced shipping companies in the region. Their clients are noticing. So are their competitors.

And so did the judges. Shortly after launch, Kiandra won the 2022 OutSystems Innovation Award for our work on MONSON’s MB2 platform.

Your turn?

If MONSON’s story sounds familiar, it’s because these problems are everywhere in the logistics world. But the solution isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s custom. It’s strategic. And with the right partner, it’s faster and more achievable than you might think.

Kiandra specialises in transforming logistics systems like yours – with award – winning software, a no-failed-project policy, and the kind of team that understands your domain.
